Josué Currais rumoured to return to Kerala - Not for Blasters, but for Gokulam

I-League outfit Gokulam Kerala FC are set to sign Spanish footballer Josué Currais if Superpower Football is to be believed. The 27-year-old is not new to Indian football, especially Kerala, having already played for Kerala Blasters FC in the 2015 and 2016-17 edition of the Indian Super League.

Josué had a decent first season with Blasters and in the second season played a crucial role in guiding the team to the ISL final. He was unfortunately suspended for the big occasion and Blasters had to settle as the second best.

The journeyman Spaniard then moved on to pastures anew, playing for multiple clubs. Since leaving India, he has played for FC Cincinnati in USA, Finnish side FC Lahti, UE Llagostera and CF Peralada in his home country Spain.

A versatile player who can play as a left back, left winger and a central midfielder, the former Major League Soccer player will add a lot of quality and flair to the Gokulam Kerala lineup. A fan favourite in Kerala, Gokulam supporters can expect the former La Masia cadet to display his brilliance once again.

Gokulam had a patchy I-League 2019-20 campaign, finishing at the 5th spot with 22 points. They were one of the favourites going into the league, but their campaign never really took off. With Josué in the squad, the Gokulam supporters can start dreaming of domestic success again.
