Transfermarkt.nl has updated the market values of the Dutch Eredivisie shortly after the turn of the year. Around 200 players were revalued in the interim update. One of the winners was former Germany international Mario Götze, who joined PSV Eindhoven in the summer. The ex-Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich midfielder immediately became a key player in head coach Roger Schmidt’s side, the market value of the 2014 World Cup winner rises from €10.5 million to €12 million – the first upgrade since June 2019.

The biggest winner of the update is once again a talent from the youth academy of Ajax. Ryan Gravenberch can double his market value to €22 million. The 18-year-old is now the lynchpin in the midfield centre of the Dutch record titleholders. Top clubs such as Juventus, FC Barcelona and Manchester United are said to be courting Gravenberch.

“At just 18 years old, Gravenberch has become an indispensable force in Erik ten Hag’s midfield,” Kevin Lux, area manager Transfermarkt NL, explains. “He has been in the starting XI in 12 of a possible 14 matches in the Eredivisie so far and has featured in all six Champions League games this season. He has missed only two matches due to a coronavirus infection. Although he still has a few weaknesses, the important role and regular starting spot see one of Ajax’s biggest talents doubling his market value.”

Former Man United defender Blind downgraded - Antony in the top 5 now

The biggest downgrade is also received by a player from Ajax’s ranks, former Man United defender Daley Blind. For the 30-year-old, it goes down by €5 million to €15 million due to his advanced age. The centre-back also slips out of the top 5 of the most valuable Eredivisie players as a result. His place is taken by teammate Antony, whose market value rises from €18 million to €25 million. At the top of the ranking André Onana and David Neres – also under contract with Ajax – remain unchanged with a market value of €36 million each.
