Hätte der Spieler seinen Vertrag nicht verlängert, könnte er sich es jetzt aussuchen, wo er spielen will. Es war doch damals schon abzusehen, dass Crystal Palace in den nächsten Jahren nicht in Europa spielen würde. Natürlich kann man Crystal Palce auf der anderen Seite auch gut verstehen, warum sollte man sein bestes Zugpferd abgeben, ein Spieler, der an sehr vielen Toren beteiligt ist und immer mal wieder den Unterschied ausmacht?

Arsenal are set to complete the £72m of Nicolas Pepe in the next few days, and it is understood that the more favourable structure of the deal saw them turn to the Lille winger over Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha.
Lille have instead agreed a deal whereby the payment is spread over a number of years, allowing Arsenal to secure such a signing while also sticking to a more limited transfer budget this summer.
It is similarly understood that Pepe's wage demands are far lower, which was another issue causing Arsenal to stall on the Zaha deal.

Wie ernst kann das sein ?
Ich meine, wenn Arsenal nach dem ganzen hick Hack der letzten Jahre ihn jetzt doch haben wollen würde, dann hätten Sie ihm doch jetzt schon ein Vertragsangebot gemacht.
Denke das er maximal nur Plan C für Arsenal ist.
Und der gute Zaha hofft und wartet bis nun immernoch.
